What's Up with H Street?

More and more, people are moving to and spending time on the H Street Corridor, a neighborhood in northeast DC. Its starting off point was when H Street got its own Farmer’s Market in 2004. The Farmer’s Market, open on Saturday mornings between late April and mid-November, is an anchoring part of this exciting new neighborhood. But it’s just the beginning of what is quickly evolving into one of DC’s chicest areas.

Before you head to the Farmer’s Market to pick up your fresh veggies, squeeze in a yoga class at Yoga District’s H Street location. They offer everything from beginner classes to flow yoga to yogalates—a strengthening mix of yoga and Pilates. Develop a habit with their monthly passes, which start at $97. It’s a perfect way to get your health on!

Sometimes, though, you just want to chow down on some delicious food. Our favorite restaurant along H Street, that’s a must-try, is the trendy Toki Underground. The entire restaurant consists of only 30 seats, which means that there’s always a line to sit. It’s worth the wait! The menu blends an avant-garde fusion palette with a glowing atmosphere, thanks to the red paper lanterns strewn up in the space. It’s even vegetarian friendly.

H Street is also a great space for seeing live shows and concerts, especially at the iconic Rock & Roll Hotel. Doubling as a bar and concert space, the converted funeral parlor attracts some of the best new bands and DJs. If music isn’t your scene, they also have a rooftop bar where you can take advantage of great weather (or your fabulous new winter coat)!

And when you’ve fallen in love with the amazing location and activities along H Street, you can move right in! 301 H Street, a boutique condominium building, is perfectly located along the H Street Corridor. Take the nearby Metro, a Capitol Bikeshare, or a great stroll.
