Washington, DC, has become a foodie town, with amazing restaurants opening up what feels like every week. But that doesn’t mean you have to venture all the way to Southeast to wait in line for Rose’s Luxury. If you’re looking for a fun night out on the town, look no further than Chevy Chase, which has become a diner’s paradise.

In the past couple of years, the neighborhood has seen the addition of some great restaurants. This weekend, we went out to sample the local flavors, and we want to pass on some of our favorite picks of the neighborhood.

 For Date Night:

When you want to have a night to spend as you please, look no further than Macon Bistro & Larder. Billed in the press as Chevy Chase’s “first ‘adult restaurant’ in the neighborhood” by Eater DC, it serves sophisticated dishes in an elegant space. Since 2014, the restaurant has been serving up southern-inspired fare, including everything from fried chicken to pan-seared scallops for dinner, not to mention the duck confit hash for dinner. Even its cocktails have been making waves, with mentions in the Washington Post.

For a Casual Get-Together:

Just a 10 minute walk away from our office is Little Red Fox, a cozy neighborhood eatery and market that is great for a coffee on the way to work, lunch with friends, or for picking up a meal for a dinner party. Our favorites for breakfast are the Portlander and Foxocado sandwiches, and the Fox BLT for lunch. Make sure to check out the weekly menu for seasonal offerings. Because Little Red Fox caters to everyone from vegans to omnivores, you’re sure to find something you’ll love here.

For a splurge:

Sushiko is the best place to get sushi in Chevy Chase. Although the regular menu is contemporary and delicious, the highlight of the restaurant’s offerings is the chef’s nine-course tasting menu, for $90. For an equally delicious but less expensive sample of Sushiko’s offerings, try the Omakase menu, which uses the best cuts of fish to please the discerning foodie. There’s even a vegan version of the Omakase menu, too. Don’t miss this delicious restaurant!
