Save Money Without Skimping at your Non-profit's Next Event
/Don’t let hors d’ouvres eat your budget. Hors d’ouvres usually aren’t served for very long, so keep them light and inexpensive.
Or, do! Host a cocktail party with heavy hors d’ouvres instead of a full meal.
Keep in-kinds in mind. Try to organize in-kind sponsorships and donations for goods and services. Donors will be motivated by the possibility for exposure at your event.
Cheers to your volunteers. Willing and able volunteers are a privilege to have; use them! Utilize your creative volunteers to do your flower arrangements or centerpieces and save money with their expertise.
Negotiate, negotiate, negotiate! Be assertive and get the best price available. Remember, saving money at the negotiating table means more money can be funneled into helping those who your non-profit supports.
At the very least, shop till you drop. Shop around. Do not go to the first printing place you look at, evaluate your options and ensure you get the best bang for your buck. Choose your venue wisely, considering what is offered in its package and the extent to which you will need to add décor.
