Our Process
DHM Media Group was instrumental in the creation of the Better Peace Tool for the International Civil Action Network's Better Peace Initiative. The Better Peace Tool project consisted of a DHM-created website and downloadable booklet in both English and Arabic. DHM constructed the entire website, incorporating content from the Better Peace Initiative and transforming it into a multimedia user interface that is both elegant and easy to use. The booklet, entirely laid out by DHM, incorporates the content from the website laid out in a pocket-sized format that is easily transportable.
The Better Peace Tool explores the history of peacemaking and how it is evolving today. It identifies six common barriers to inclusion in the peacemaking process, as well as laying out strategies for the best way to overcome them. These strategies are presented in a four-part framework, which offer proactive steps to broaden women's participation in the peacemaking process. The Better Peace Initiative was launched by the International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN) in 2014 in order to facilitate the inclusion of women peace builders in peacemaking and meditation processes. This project is attempting to identify barriers that exist between inclusivity of women in the peacebuilding process, and to calculate effective strategies for overcoming them.
